Physical and chemical properties Lithium fluoride is a white powder with a sodium chloride crystal structure. Relative density 2.640, melting point 848 ℃, boiling point 1673 ℃. It begins to volatilize at 1100~1200 ℃, and its vapor is alkaline. Lithium fluoride is slightly soluble in water, but insoluble in alcohol and other organic solvents. At normal temperature, lithium fluoride is easily soluble in nitric acid and sulfuric acid, but not in hydrochloric acid, and can form Li2HF acid salt with hydrofluoric acid.
Product use: used as additive for aluminum electrolysis and rare earth electrolysis, optical glass manufacturing, desiccant, flux, etc
